Pius X High School’s quarterback Anthony Casciano was named to the Pennsylvania Sports Writers Class A All-State Football Team, First Team-Offense. The team is chosen by a statewide panel. During the 2009 season, Anthony had 2,307 passing yards for 20 touchdowns. Congratulations, Anthony!

Congratulations to Pius X students!

  • Amelia DeMasi placed second and Cailee Carmella placed third at the recent Regional Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) competion.
  • Congratulations to the Varsity Wrestling Team for their 5th place finish in the Christmas City Wrestling Tournament: Luke DeLuise—1st place; Justin Mazza—2nd place; Anthony Bilotta—2nd place; Jake Giovannini—4th place; Joe D’Alessandro—3rd place; Luke Texeira—5th place; Josh LaBar—6th place.

  • Auditions for the 2010 Diocesan Music Festival were held on Dec. 1 at Bethlehem Central Catholic High School. Music students from all schools in the Allentown Diocese participated. Pius X sent seven musicians to the auditions, one from the Pep Band and six from the Choir. Five were selected by the judges: from the Choir, Soprano Jessica Kerler and Altos Catherine Boehm, Sarah Klingel and Cailee Carmella; from the Pep Band, Clarinet I-First chair Kelly Anlas. The festival will be held in the Reading area on Feb. 4, 5, & 6.
  • District 10 of the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association holds a chorus festival each year comprised of high school singers from seven counties in eastern PA.  On October 19, soprano Jessica Kerler placed 19th out of 119 students who auditioned. She will represent Pius X at the festival on January 28-30 at Nazareth Area High School.
